General Foot Health

Not many people are aware, but toenails can actually be a good barometer of overall health. They are often the body’s way of showing us if there is an underlying health concern, such as a deficiency or as a symptom of a systematic disease. It is important to take care of our feet and ensure that any issues are looked at by a qualified foot care practitioner.

Ingrown Toenails

Ingrown toenails are one of the most common foot issues that we have seen at Foot and Health Practitioner over the past 40 years. If left untreated they can lead to irritation, redness, swelling and a lot of pain. If diagnosed early, ingrown nails can be treated easily and often without surgery, they can also be easily prevented by regular, professional toenail cutting.

Fungal Nail Infections

Anyone can suffer from a fungal infection of the nail, no matter their age, sex or general health. A fungal nail infection can actually be present for many years, before any real symptoms appear. The most common symptoms are a progressive change in a toenails quality and colour. Another sign can be a foul-smelling discharge. Treatment can be easy and straight-forward and can prevent the infection spreading.
